Fuel prices go up.

Published

on

THE Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has adjusted upwards the fuel pump price.

The new price of fuel is now K35.56 per liter from K31.12 per litre.

While diesel goes from K28.78 per litre to K29.60 per litre.

The increase is with effect from midnight.

ERB Board Chairperson Reynolds Bowa said the overall increase in oil prices is largely driven by supply uncertainty following the continued geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

He noted that during the period under review, the prices of oil on the international market increased.

“In the same period, there was a noted increase in the price of petrol while diesel and kerosene experienced marginal increases. The overall increase in oil prices was largely driven by supply uncertainty following the continued geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Further, there was noted increased seasonal demand from major oil consuming countries such as the United States of America (USA), ahead of the summer driving season,” he said.

Mr Bowa said since the last fuel price review last month, the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene increased by 6.59 percent, 1.02 percent and 0.28 percent respectively.

He noted that in addition, the Kwacha significantly depreciated against the United States Dollar (USD) during the month.

Local business entities will now be able to open a ‘Yango for Business Personal Corporate Account’ to provide their staff with safe and convenient rides using the means of Yango partners in Zambia.

Corporate taxi ordering service for business trips provides simple solutions to optimize employee travel time and expenses. ‘Yango for Business’ service runs on a digital platform that allows corporate users to manage the transportation needs of their staff. The platform allows users to adjust use of service, create departments’ hierarchy, place orders, view riders’ order history and more.

“The corporate account will enable businesses and corporate users to optimize transportation costs, save time for improved productivity and ensure employee satisfaction and added value. Furthermore, the corporate account is a secure and traceable transportation platform that provides ease of mind and accountability,” reaffirms Yango Zambia Country Manager Kabanda Chewe.

According to the company, the new service will help organizations and other corporate institutions to conveniently manage the usage of corporate funds attributed for employees commuting and business trips, avoid fraud and inappropriate spending and organize the processes in a more transparent manner, enjoying benefits such as a dedicated support service from Yango and thus increasing convenience of the workers and maximizing their productivity. The company says using the Yango for Business service can even be more cost-efficient than using the company’s own fleet.

The service comes with its operational manual that guides users to organize and manage all their transportation processes and requirements on the go. The users can always find relevant information and service news on their account and can deposit funds on the account profile to make payments. Electronic reports and invoices will be available for download in the personal corporate account.

Since its launch in 2022, Yango has experienced strong growth in Zambia currently operating in Lusaka, Ndola, Kitwe and recently launched in Solwezi. For people of the country the Yango brand has already become synonymous with fast, comfortable and safe travel. Unlike competitors, Yango uses its own maps, its own route and navigation system based on artificial intelligence technologies.

Another feature of the Yango service is enhanced security. Each driver within the system is assigned a rating, which changes depending on what kind of feedback he receives on the basis of completed trips. Users of the app can share their trip route with their family and friends in real time. Besides that, there are emergency support lines available for riders, as well as the ability to contact public emergency service right in the app. Now Yango brings another feature to make life of people in Zambia more convenient.

Java Foods launches 120 gram pack of eeZee YoPaka noodles to meet growing demand

Published

on

JAVA Foods has launched a 120-gram pack of eeZee YoPaka noodles.

The introduction of the 120-gram pack, which is wholly a Zambian product, was made after the realization that the 70gram pack on the market was too small to fill up tummies.

Speaking during the launch of the product, Java Foods Chief Executive Officer, Monica Musonda said the launch is a testament to the company’s commitment to its clients.

“From inception, our mission has been clear: to produce high-quality, safe, and nutritious foods using locally sourced raw materials. Our wheat is 100 percent locally sourced, benefiting local farmers and consumers. We fortify our products with valuable vitamins and minerals,” she said.

Ms. Musonda said the company has built a state-of-the-art, modern instant noodle facility, the first of its kind in Zambia.

She also noted that the processes of the noodles are internationally certified, which aligns strongly with the company’s mission of providing safe and nutritious foods.

“We can proudly declare that eeZee Noodles is easily Zambia’s number one instant noodle brand loved by kids and trusted by moms. Our vision is one of shared growth, and for us, that growth starts with good food, eeZee Noodles,” she said.

Ms. Musonda also outlined that as pioneers of instant noodle manufacturing in the country, the company is proud to see how far eeZee noodles have come.

“We have developed a strong distribution network and will in the future be introducing loyalty programs with key distributors to drive sales in the key markets. You can find eeZee Noodles in every province. We also developed an effective and targeted marketing campaign and have also successfully pushed the fact that eeZee Noodles are your quick and affordable meal option,” she said.

Ms. Musonda added that eeZee Noodles have the largest flavor profile currently being sold in the country, with five flavors on the shelf and a sixth flavor to be introduced by quarter four of this year.

“One thing we now know is that the 70g pack size is seen as a bit small to fill hungry tummies, so we went back to the drawing board to see how we could solve this. As a listening and responsive brand, we’re excited today to unveil the first of its kind in the Zambian market, eeZee Noodles 120g instant noodle pack, catering to the demands of our audience and bringing into reality a ‘value for money’ product,” she said.
