With the weather taking a turn for good, it is probably the best time to head out and catch up on various events happening in and around Doha.

Here's an extensive list of things to do this weekend that covers events from shows for children, food festivals, cultural shows and lots more.

Ajyal Film Festival 2019

Ajyal Film Festival presented by Doha Film Institute (DFI) feature ninety-six films from 39 countries that demonstrate the power of storytelling to transform minds. Actor and producer Chace Crawford, known for his role in teen drama series Gossip Girl, is among the special guests at the festival. Made in Qatar line up will shine the spotlight on Qatari talents with 22 films, the Made in India section will present 8 Indian short films.

A ticket is required to gain entry to all ticketed screenings and events.

ANIMATED VOL. 1.5 (Choir Edition)

As part of the International Children’s Day, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra with Qatar Concert Choir will be performing ‘CineMoon’, ANIMATED VOL. 1.5 (Choir Edition) for the closing ceremony of Katara Children’s Festival.

Movie Screening

As part of International Children’s Day Al Thuraya Planetarium will be screening movies for children in English and Arabic. The movies to be screened are ‘Dawn of the space age’ 3D show, ‘Planet little perfect’ and ‘The Zula Patrol Show’.

Qatar-British Festival

The annual Qatar British Festival, in its sixth edition this year, is hosting a plethora of events and activities which celebrate the long-standing relationship between the two friendly countries.

Running for weeks, the festival comprises cultural events, panel discussions, photography, workshops and public activities providing audiences the chance to experience a series of fun, educational and creative events in various areas including culture, sports, education and business, among others.

FIFA Club World Cup 2019 Trophy Tour kicks off

For those of you who did not get a chance to click a selfie along with the FIFA Club World Cup trophy at Souq Waqif, here's another chance. The FIFA Club World Cup Trophy will be on display at Aspire Park (3pm - 5pm) and Doha Festival City (7pm – 9pm) on Friday.

In addition to catching a glimpse of the trophy, visitors will also have a chance to watch several cultural performances which showcases Qatar’s diversity and hospitality.

Qatar Street Food Festival

Fans of street food in Qatar are in for a treat this weekend as Al Bidda hosts the second edition of street food festival. Visitors will get a chance to experience a wide range of restaurants, from local and oriental to Asian, American, and European, Mediterranean and other cuisines. The festival will also have many events related to food and cooking as well as various competitions and awards for visitors.

Farmers Market

The third season of Torba Farmers Market brings together vendors and thousands of community members supporting local food producers and agriculture. It offers a wide range of products including freshly-baked goods, fruits, vegetables, homemade preserves, syrups, and handicrafts. Also Torba Junior, an initiative for kids (for 5-12-year-old) to practice their entrepreneurial skills. At the market, five Torba Junior booths are set up for mini vendors.

Qatar’s Best Talents

Mall of Qatar’s ‘Qatar’s Best Talents’ takes place every Friday at the Oasis stage. Singing duets, hip-hop performances, folk dances and piano recitals are some of the excellent entertainment mix to be showcased as part of the programme.

‘Qatar’s Best Talents’, in their third season, showcases up to 10 performances in dancing, singing, and other performing arts selected by MoQ.

The Perfume Show Arabia 2019

The Perfume Show will be a first trade and consumer show for perfumes, fragrances and accessories in the GCC. It will exhibit the latest products, current trends, innovations and special offers, a perfect platform for sellers and buyers to come together.

Cultural Diversity Festival

Katara will host folkloric shows and traditional arts as part of the 4th Cultural Diversity Festival every weekend.

The festival features an array of cultural performances from different nations around the world and aims to act as bridge between cultures and provide a multicultural harmonious environment.

The fourth edition features folkloric bands from 14 countries: Qatar, Turkey, Portugal, Philippines, Mexico, Hungary, Singapore, Poland, Korea, Taiwan, Sweden, Mozambique, Nigeria and Lithuania.

The festival is free for everyone.
