VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach City’s Planning Department is inviting the public to comment on the 2040 Comprehensive Plan for the next 20 years and beyond, a releases states.

The plan details development guidelines that will help shape the city. The public is invited to attend any of the scheduled meetings to give feedback and ask questions.

“For instance, we heard people say that limiting urban sprawl and retaining current open spaces is a goal,” said Virginia Beach Comprehensive Planner Hank Morrison. “If that’s the case, then future growth will need to focus on infill and redevelopment.”
