Amanda Holden was left terrified for her eldest daughter Lexi last summer when she was rushed to hospital in a medical emergency.
Initially, doctors thought that the teenager could have contracted sepsis, but tests showed that she had VTEC E.Coli.
Lexi was suffering from symptoms such as stomach cramps and bloating, which the Britain's Got Talent judge initially attributed to the stress of her exams. Amanda decided to make Lexi's health issues public so she could help others to become aware of both the symptoms and severity of E.coli.

Amanda previously shared that she took Lexi to their GP due to her painful symptoms. They discovered that she had a bacterial infection after undergoing a number of tests.
She said: "For about three weeks, Lexi had been complaining of bloating and stomach cramps, she was not happy at all and in quite a lot of pain with her tummy."
Government officials in the UK then reached out to TV star and she to complete forms to determine how Lexi might have contracted the infection while she was away in Spain filming a show.
"No-one could work out where it had come from and, by this time, she was on her third set of tests," Amanda told The Sun last year. "In the morning, I spoke to my friend Pippa, one of the wonderful midwives who delivered our gorgeous stillborn boy Theo - she was the one who got me through all of that trauma and grief - and she advised us to rush Lexi to hospital."
Lexi was admitted to London's Northwick Park Hospital, a facility known for its specialisation in tropical illness and bacterial infections so she could be monitored by experts.

Amanda's youngest daughter Hollie found out about what was going on after she took a phone call in the car from doctors. She immediately burst into years.
She said: "I was driving back home one day and I had Hollie, my youngest, in the car with me when the doctor called and said: 'I don’t want to alarm you Amanda, but Lexi’s bloods and everything else are through the roof.'
The ITV star added: "'You need to check that her temperature doesn’t rise because she’s in danger of contracting sepsis '.
"Poor Hollie could hear the conversation and burst into tears, whilst I was trying to stay calm. Obviously, when you hear the word 'sepsis', it's terrifying."
After the health ordeal, Amanda admitted she could finally "breathe a sigh of relief" after Lexi received her exams results.
Lexi marked the occasion with a glass of fizz at Toula's Seaside as Amanda said: "Congratulations to our Lexi, we couldn't be prouder.
"All the grades and first choice uni, what a bloody relief." Lexi was also presented with a cake that read: "OMG I did it!" Amanda looked glam in a satin yellow dress for the meal as she added gold chunky necklaces, sunglasses and a cream clutch bag.
She said: "A fantastic evening celebrating our girl Lexi. Thanks for our surprise cake."
