Pakistani-American honoured as ‘distinguished alumni' at Washington University

Khawaja Munir Mashooqullah was also named in the 'Outstanding 50 Asian-Americans in Business' list

Pakistan’s Khawaja Munir Mashooqullah has been honoured as Olin Business School Distinguished Alumni for 2018.

The founder of Synergies Worldwide, Mashooqullah graduated with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Washington University’s Olin Business School in 1998.

Mashooqullah was named as one of the 'Outstanding 50 Asian-Americans in Business' by the Asian American Business Development Centre.

An active participant of New York City’s Asia Society, he also works with charitable organisations in South Asia. Apart from serving as an adviser and board member for textile fibre, design and food companies in Pakistan, Bangladesh, China and EU, he is also the founding trustee of the Institute of Business Management (IBA) in Karachi.

Washington University is one of the top 20 universities in the United States and honours its alumni who have attained distinction in their careers. “Their careers serve as models for all Washington University students and alumni,” states the school’s website.

It further adds that the recipients “share the characteristics of leadership: progressive thinking, high standards, uncompromising integrity, commitment, courage, and confidence”.

Founded in 1987, Synergies Worldwide specialises in global supply chain management, providing low-cost sourcing in apparel, home textiles, fashion accessories, footwear and other goods for companies in the fashion and hospitality industry. It is among the top 10 global sourcing companies today.
